Union Station and the railways
Daniel Burnham's great station of 1907, its plaza and fountain, and the crowds that came and went.
Union Station opened in 1907 and was the city’s front door for half a century. Presidents, soldiers, kings and conventions arrived through it. These photographs show the station and its plaza, the Columbus Fountain of 1912, the trains, and the crowds who met them.
